I had heard that this took place, but that if you were wise enough to add QL to your steam library when it was free.. You get to keep it as free.

I had not heard that Linux support was removed for good. I realize gaming primarily takes place on Windows, but this game was originally on Linux, Mac(before OS X), SEGA, and Sony platforms. To be reduced to a single platform, when even Valve/Steam is pushing more Linux, is greatly saddening.

It seems like some of the direction they are going is adding things that made Quake 3 great and were removed to make QL do-able.
